The Motorola Spectra radio was first designed in the late 80s and its continued development into the Astro Spectra and the Astro Spectra Plus radios show how forward thinking the engineers at Motorola were.
One of its only week points are the
surface mount electrolytic capacitors, after 15-20 years of dependable service they begin to leak electrolyte (Boric acid)  which can damage the boards and degrade performance of this fine radio.
This sale is a refurbish service for any model Astro Spectra Digital mobile or Astro Spectra Plus mobile radio.
This is for the service only on a customers supplied radio so it can continue to give superior service for another decade or two, I have refurbished hundreds of these fine radios and consider them one of the best values in P25 phase 1 mobile radios, many of my refurbished radios serve nation wide in public service.
I can also provide complete refurbished Astro Spectra Digital and Astro Spectra Plus radios in just about any band split and configuration.
The service includes replacing all of the surface mount electrolytic capacitors, cleaning the internal boards and connections and a full radio alignment, minor repair of circuit boards is included, only the highest quality US sourced components are used in these refurbished radios
Return shipping is included only for the lower 48 states

On remote radios ship the drawer unit and control head only, do not ship W3 heads as they do not suffer from these problems.
CONSOLETTES: only ship the drawer unit and control head (if it has one) shipping complete a Consolette will incur a hefty return shipping fee.
Available upgrades:  firmware upgrades and installing factory RX pre-amp (most 50W radios did not come from the factory with a pre-amp) can be done at an additional cost.
Evaluation of the customers radio is free, if the radio requires additional repairs such as board replacement and the customer does not wish to do so all but return shipping is refunded.
